Frequently asked
Is Curvano free?
Yes. Planning, navigation, ride recording, lean angle, friends, groups, route sharing and GPX import are free. Curvano Pro adds hosting group rides, monthly crowns, cloud backup of routes and rides, GPX export, live speedometer, ghost mode, app icons, record a route, and offline maps.
What does Curvano Pro cost?
€5.00 a month or €29.99 a year through the App Store, shown in your own currency outside the euro countries. Cancel any time in your Apple subscriptions.
Why does Curvano Pro cost money?
Developing and maintaining an app comes with costs and time, and Curvano Pro includes additional features and services that require more server compute resources, storage (for your backups, hosting offline map files, etc.), and development time. For a small monthly or yearly fee you can support the development of Curvano and enjoy innovative features that bring your riding experience to the next level.
Which phones are supported?
iPhone with iOS 17 or later. Curvano uses your phones motion sensors to calculate your lean angle and speed, so it works best mounted on the bike.
Do I need a phone mount? (i.e. Quad Lock or SP Connect)
To use Curvano effectively while riding, a phone mount (with a vibration dampener to protect your camera) is recommended to securely hold your device on the bike. Some tank bags also have a clear pouch to put your phone in. We use your phone's motion sensors to calculate your lean angle and speed. The former of which can be disabled in Settings.
Does Curvano work outside of Europe and the UK?
As of right now, Curvano and most of its features are only available in Europe and the British Isles (UK, Ireland, Isle of Man).
Does Curvano work without signal?
An active ride keeps navigating on the route it already has, and the ride is recorded on the phone. Planning a new route needs a connection with Curvano's servers. Downloadable map regions for riding fully offline are available for Curvano Pro.
How do I add a friend?
Under Friends, share your friend code or let a friend scan your QR code. Under Settings, Privacy you can choose who may send you requests: everyone, friends of friends, or nobody.
Do my friends see where I live?
Set a privacy zone under Settings, Privacy: a circle around your home, from 100 m to 1 km, that is trimmed from every ride you sync or share. During a group ride your position is visible to the riders in that ride only. Your live location data is never saved on Curvano's servers.
Can I hide my stats or my name?
Yes. Under Settings, Privacy you can leave the group leaderboards, hide your stats and bikes from friends, and show only a nickname to riders who are not your friends yet.
How do I import a route?
Open a GPX file from Files, Mail or any app and choose Curvano, or use the import button on the Routes page. Exporting routes and previous rides as GPX is a Curvano Pro feature.
Where is my data stored?
On Curvano's own servers in the Netherlands. Your information is encrypted. Read our privacy policy for more information.
