Curvano is a motorcycle navigation app for iPhone. This page says what Curvano stores about you, why, for how long, and what you can do about it.
The short version: Curvano keeps what it needs to plan, sync and share your rides, encrypts personal data, sells nothing, and lets you delete everything from inside the app.
Who is responsible
Curvano is made and run in the Netherlands, and all data is stored on servers in the Netherlands. Questions about this policy or your data: support@curvano.app.
What we store, and why
"Encrypted" below means encrypted at the application level before it is written to the database, so the database file and its backups never contain those values in plain text.

| Apple user ID | Recognise the same Apple ID next time you sign in | Hashed | Account deletion |

| First and last name, nickname | Friends and group members see your first name and last initial, or only your nickname if you choose | Encrypted | Account deletion |

| Ride tracks: position, time, speed, heading, altitude per second | Ride history on a new iPhone, the roads-you-rode memory | Encrypted | Account deletion, or when you delete the ride |

What we do not store
No passwords, no device identifiers, no analytics, no advertising identifiers. Your IP address stays in memory for one minute for rate limiting and is never written to the database.
Group rides
During a group ride, every rider's last position lives only in Curvano server's memory so the others can see it on the map. Positions are dropped the moment the ride ends. Nothing about who rode with whom, or where, is written to disk.
Your privacy zone
Under Settings, Privacy you can set a circle around home, from 100 m to 1 km. Every ride you sync or share is trimmed inside that circle.
Routing and maps
To plan a route, the start, destination, via points and your ride profile are sent to Curvano's own routing server. Map tiles come from OpenFreeMap, which receives the tile coordinates your map needs, as any map does. Neither is tied to your account.
Legal basis
- Contract: your account, sync, Curvano Pro, promo codes and notices about the account itself.
- Consent: promotional email. Off by default.
- Legitimate interest: security (token hashes, rate limits) and cleaning up inactive accounts.
Your rights
- Access and portability: Settings, Account, Export gives you everything as a JSON file.
- Rectification: edit your profile in Settings.
- Erasure: Settings, Account, Delete account removes the account and everything attached to it. Stopping Curvano under your Apple ID settings does the same.
- Objection to marketing: the switch in your profile.
For anything else about your data, write to support@curvano.app.
Retention
Free accounts unseen for 23 months receive one email and are deleted a month later if still unseen. Curvano Pro accounts are never deleted while the subscription or promo code is active. Backups roll over after 14 days, so deleted data leaves the backups within two weeks.
Sharing
Curvano does not sell or rent your data and shares it with no one except the services it needs to work: Apple (sign-in, push notifications, App Store purchases) and the map tile provider named above. Friends and group members see what you let them see: your name or nickname, picture, bikes, and stats unless you switch them off.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced in the app.
